Level: 849 - a pixel-art underwater scene with two people swimming in the water, one wearing a fish tail and one wearing a headpiece.

Full board at start

How the Level Works

1. Tap a color block in the bottom queue to send it into one of the five slots above. The queue runs in four independent columns, three blocks deep; a column scrolls up only when its own front block is taken.

2. Ants of that color pour out of the hole and eat every reachable pixel of the matching color on the picture; the number printed on the block counts down while they work. At 0 the block vanishes and frees its slot.

3. Pixels can be walled in. A block can sit with a handful of pixels left for two minutes while the rest of its color is buried under other colors. That is normal - the pixels fall the moment the blocking color is gone. This level is built almost entirely out of those stalls: one Teal block holds its slot for 233 seconds.

4. Two queue cells are not ordinary blocks. A padlock blocks the front of a column until you tap it (step 40), and a cobwebbed block hides its color and number until it lands (step 20). Both cost a tap; the padlock eats nothing at all.

5. Eat the entire picture to win. There is no move limit, so the order below only decides how fast the five slots recycle. One clean run takes 5:44.5.

Complete Block Order (Which Color First, Then Which)

Timestamps are when the block lands in a slot. Count is the number printed on the block as it lands. The numbers below run in tap order, not by slot: each of the five slots refills many times.

Pro Tips

1. Keep all five slots full. The picture is cleared by volume, not by order, so the only real waste is an idle slot: the moment a block finishes, tap the next one from whichever queue column is ready. The short blocks - Rust 4, Purple 6, Red 3, Red 2, Pale pink 4, Orange 6, Magenta 9 - are the best slot-fillers.

2. Teal 39 (step 18, 1:20) is the level's signature stall. It drains to 34 in the first ten seconds and then crawls: it still reads 16 at 3:20 and 1 at 5:10, and it does not free slot 2 until 5:13.5. From 1:20 to 5:13.5 you are playing with four slots, so plan the whole mid-game around it.

3. Four more blocks hold a slot for 100 seconds or more. Teal 85 (step 12, 0:47) locks slot 3 for 170 seconds, Orange 6 (step 7, 0:26) locks slot 1 for 111 seconds, Sand 17 (step 26, 2:40) locks slot 5 for 117.5 seconds and Rust 4 (step 13, 0:55.5) locks slot 4 for 101 seconds. Orange 6 and Rust 4 are the worst offenders - they are tiny blocks that cannot reach their pixels.

4. Blue is the level's volume colour: 868 pixels over 11 blocks, more than Teal (375), Dark grey (249) and Sand (100) combined. Blue blocks also drain faster than anything else: Blue 20 (step 16, 1:15) is gone in four seconds, Blue 90 (step 36, 4:29.5) in seventeen and Blue 92 (step 39, 5:05) in twenty-two.

5. The padlock blocks the left-hand queue column from 3:31 to 5:14.5. It appears at the bottom of that column at 2:40 and rides up to the front at 3:31. Nothing behind it can be reached until you tap it, so tap it as soon as you need that column - it costs no slot and eats nothing. Here it goes at 5:14.5, immediately before Magenta 15.

6. The cobwebbed block at the front of column 3 hides a Dark grey 59. It sits at the front of column 3 from 1:15 to 1:44.5 with no colour and no number showing. Tap it anyway: it lands in slot 5 and reveals a Dark grey 59, the second-biggest Dark grey of the level.

7. Watch the same-colour hand-offs. Slot 5 is held by Sand 16 (2:14.5), then Sand 17 (2:40), then Sand 33 (4:37.5) back to back, and slot 2 takes Blue 85 (0:58.5) and then Blue 20 (1:15) on top of a Blue that is down to 2. The colour never changes, so the slot looks busy even when it has just recycled - read the number, not the colour.

8. The 4:47 - 5:05 lull, then the finale. Slot 4 sits empty for 36 seconds (4:47 to 5:05) - the longest idle stretch of the level - and slot 1 joins it at 5:02, so the run finishes the last minute on three slots. The queue only holds Sand 34, Orange 41 and White 15 by then, and the player waits them out rather than parking a block. The last eight taps then all land between 5:14.5 and 5:41.5, and the last block you place is Sand 34 at 5:41.5 - the same block that eats the very last pixel at 5:44.5.
