Pixel Dolphin over Sunset Water

How do you beat level 1097? Follow the full 43-block clear of the leaping dolphin over sunset water: all five slots are open from the first second, a Pale pink 35 parks in slot 2 from 0:20 to 3:52, a Dark grey 131 chews through the dolphin outline, and Mauve 87 is the last tap. Board clear at 5:09.5.

How the Level Works

1. Tap a block in the bottom queue. It flies into the leftmost free slot. You cannot choose the slot, and no tap is possible while all five slots are full. 2. All five slots are usable from the first second. Unlike some Food Hunt levels, the fifth slot is not chained here. 3. Ants of that colour eat every reachable matching pixel. The number printed on the block counts down; at 0 the block disappears and frees its slot. 4. The count is already dropping while the block flies in. The tables use the value on the first frame the block sits in its slot; one second later it is usually 1-4 lower. 5. The queue keeps four columns for the whole level. It drains but never re-centres. A few queue blocks stay greyed out with white borders — this run never taps them. 6. Most blocks freeze rather than clear. Pale pink 35 sits in slot 2 from 0:20 to 3:52 and Orange 46 sits in slot 3 from 0:05 to 2:27. A frozen block still holds its slot, so keep feeding the slots that can move. 7. Same-colour swaps leave no empty frame. When a new block of the same colour lands as the old one hits 0, the only tell is the number jumping back up: Rose 57 -> Rose 44 at 4:24.5, Mauve 76 -> Mauve 44 at 4:44.5, White 76 -> White 21 at 4:48. 8. Lime is the leaf-patterned green block. It shows up three times with tiny counts (4 at 0:28.5, 1 at 2:28, 5 at 4:22.5) and clears the few bright green pixels.

Complete Block Order

Times are video time at 3x speed, to the nearest 0.5 s. Count is the number printed on the block when it settles into its slot.

Phase 1 - Opening Five (0:03.5-0:05.5)

All five slots are open from the start — nothing is chained. Five taps fill the board inside two seconds: Pale pink 21 goes to slot 1 and Purple 39 to slot 2, then Orange 46, White 74 and White 29 take slots 3, 4 and 5.

Phase 2 - First Refill (0:13.5-0:22)

Pale pink 21 clears at 0:16.5 and Purple 39 at 0:12. Cyan 31 drops into slot 2 at 0:13.5 and Orange 46 into slot 5 at 0:14.5. Purple 56 takes slot 1 at 0:17, Pale pink 35 slot 2 at 0:20 and Cyan 35 slot 4 at 0:22.

Phase 3 - Slot 1 Chain and the First Freezes (0:28.5-0:52)

A Lime leaf block (4) lands in slot 1 at 0:28.5 — it eats a handful of green pixels and disappears. Purple 54 follows in slot 1 at 0:30.5. From here slot 1 cycles on its own for a while: Blue 22 at 0:41.5, Yellow 10 at 0:46 and Pink 48 in slot 4 at 0:52. Meanwhile Pale pink 35 (slot 2, 0:20) and Orange 46 (slot 3, 0:05) are already frozen.

Phase 4 - Two Slots Walled Off (1:10-1:44)

Rose 55 takes slot 4 at 1:10 and clears at 1:21. Purple 56 lands in slot 1 at 1:21.5 and White 53 in slot 4 at 1:25. At 1:44 slot 1 takes Blue 34 and slot 4 takes Purple 31; both then sit almost still for over a minute, so all progress comes from slots 3 and 5, which keep taking fresh blocks.

Phase 5 - The Longest Freeze (2:28-2:48.5)

Between 2:28 and 2:48 the level is almost static: Lime 1 (slot 3, 2:28), Pink 16 (slot 3, 2:30.5), Yellow 42 (slot 3, 2:35), Blue 61 (slot 5, 2:36) and Pink 42 (slot 5, 2:48.5). Keep tapping — the slots rotate but most of the board is blocked by Pale pink 35 and Blue 34.

Phase 6 - Freeze Starts to Break (3:20.5-3:40)

White 72 lands in slot 3 at 3:20.5 and clears by 3:37. Dark grey 131 takes slot 4 at 3:31.5 — the biggest block of the level, and it is the one that eats the dolphin outline. Blue 92 drops into slot 3 at 3:40 and clears at 3:57.5.

Phase 7 - The Recycle Begins (3:47-4:04)

Mauve 65 (slot 1, 3:47), Pale pink 46 (slot 2, 3:53.5), Yellow 39 (slot 1, 4:00) and Orange 52 (slot 3, 4:04) start the end game. The board is now mostly eaten; the pale pink block that sat in slot 2 for over three minutes finally finishes at 3:52.5.

The last eleven blocks arrive in about 40 seconds: Rose 57 at 4:22, Lime 5 in slot 3 half a second later, then a same-colour swap to Rose 44 at 4:24.5. White 76 takes slot 3 at 4:32.5, Mauve 76 slot 1 at 4:38.5, Blue 77 slot 5 at 4:42, Mauve 44 slot 1 at 4:44.5, White 21 slot 3 at 4:48, Mauve 61 slot 1 at 4:53.5, Mauve 71 slot 5 at 4:57.5 and Mauve 87 slot 4 at 4:59.5. Pro Tips

1. Do not wait for frozen blocks. Pale pink 35 (slot 2) and Orange 46 (slot 3) block two of five slots before 1:00. Tap the others and let them work. 2. The Dark grey 131 at 3:31.5 is the level's spine. It eats the dolphin outline and the sea edge; it counts down slowly, so keep the other slots moving while it works. 3. Slot 1 does most of the tapping. Fifteen of the 43 blocks land there, including the whole Mauve chain at the end (76, 44, 61). 4. Watch for same-colour swaps. Three of them happen at the end (Rose 57->44, Mauve 76->44, White 76->21); if the number jumps back up, a new block has landed. 5. Lime leaf blocks are worth tapping. They cost one slot for a few seconds and clear the green pixels no colour block can reach. 6. The queue has dead blocks. The greyed blocks with white borders never get tapped in this run, so the usable queue is shorter than it looks.
