Food Hunt Level 1038 Walkthrough

Expert

Stuck on Food Hunt level 1038? Follow the full 41-block clear of the fruit-cake board: a five-block opening burst in six seconds, a cyan block that trickles from 25 all the way to the four-minute mark, three heavy hitters over x90, and a brown-crust finale that empties the board at 5:39.

Level: 1038 — a round fruit cake: a swirled cream top covered in red, yellow, green and orange fruit swirls, a deep-blue pan ring with light-blue highlights, and a thick brown crust base

How the Level Works

1. Tap a color block in the bottom queue to send it into one of the five slots above. All five slots work from the start — nothing is chained shut on this level. 2. Ants of that color pour out and eat every reachable pixel of the matching color on the cake; the number printed on the block counts down as pixels are eaten. At 0 the block vanishes and frees its slot. 3. Blocks get stuck. A block whose remaining pixels are buried under another color freezes on a low number for a long time. Level 1038 has several long stalls — the cyan ×25 from the opening literally trickles until the four-minute mark. Do not tap extra blocks hoping to speed them up. 4. Colors are eaten in layers. Red arrives five times (29, 24, 55, 18, 31), white five times (40, 48, 42, 44, 63), dark grey four times (63, 61, 92, 58): the first pass takes what is exposed, the next pass digs out the cells the earlier ant could not reach. 5. The `▶3×` badge in the HUD is the game's own eating-speed setting, not a playback speed — timestamps in this guide are real footage time. 6. Eat the whole picture to win. No move limit, no fail state — ordering is about speed, nothing else.

Colors in this level: Cyan (the light-blue pan rim highlights), Yellow (the yellow fruit swirls), Dark grey (the outline pixels between every swirl), Green (the green kiwi swirl), Rust (the dark crust edge), Red (the strawberry swirls), White (the cream top), Teal (the dark-teal swirl accents), Pink (the pink candy accents), Orange (the orange swirl sections), Blue (the deep-blue pan ring), Light Blue (more pan rim highlights), Brown (the crust base).

Complete Block Order (Which Color First, Then Which)

Timestamps are the moment the block lands in its slot, as positions in the footage (t = (frame − 1) / 2). Count = the number printed on the block when it landed.

Phase 1 — Opening Burst and First Refills (0:04 – 0:22)

Five taps inside six seconds — cyan, yellow, dark grey, green and rust take slots 1 through 5 in order. The rust ×13 clears in about three seconds, and red ×29 + white ×40 refill the freed slots at 0:21.

A slow stretch: teal ×22, green ×18 and rust ×18 all seat around the one-minute mark and then drain slowly while the cream top is still intact. Pink ×11 and orange ×12 arrive just before the two-minute line.

This is where the level's minutes go. Yellow ×33 parks on its opening count for about 25 seconds; white and blue cycle through slot 2 one after another; pink ×18 and dark grey ×61 close the phase. The opening cyan ×25 is still sitting in slot 1 the whole time, trickling down single pixels.

The big blocks arrive back to back: rust ×38, white ×44, red ×55, light blue ×36, yellow ×59, dark grey ×92 and orange ×65 — seven seats in 34 seconds. After orange ×65 lands at 4:03, the three biggest blocks (dark grey 92, yellow 59, orange 65) drain together and all finish within two seconds of each other around 4:19–4:20, emptying four of the five slots at once.

After the triple finish there is a short gap, then the relay starts: five blocks in eight seconds. Teal ×10 is the most extreme block of the run — it drains from 10 to 0 in about one and a half seconds and its slot is instantly reused by red ×18.

Phase 6 — Second Relay (4:43 – 4:50)

Green ×18 finishes the kiwi swirl, blue ×43 takes apart the rest of the deep-blue pan ring, and teal ×17 keeps the fifth slot busy. Blue ×43 stalls on ×1 for the last few seconds of its life before releasing slot 1 at 5:02.

385:22🟫 Brown72
395:28🟧 Orange62
405:28🩵 Light Blue51
415:35🟫 Brown44

The crust browns (72 and 44) only show up now — the base pixels stay protected until every swirl above them is gone. Brown ×72 lands one second after yellow ×30; orange ×62 and light blue ×51 double-seat at 5:28; and brown ×44 is the last block of the level.

The very last pixel to fall is brown — block 41 (brown ×44) is the only block still running after 5:37, and the board goes empty at 5:39.

Pro Tips

1. Fill all five slots and keep them full. The level has long stall windows (for example 4:04 – 4:27) where every seated block drains at once — an empty slot there is wasted time.

2. Big blocks first whenever the queue offers them. The backbone of this level is the ×40 – ×92 runs: dark grey 92/63/61/58, brown 72/44, orange 65/62/51, red 55, yellow 59/48, blue 49/43, white 48/44/42/63. The small blocks (teal 10, pink 11/12, orange 12, rust 13) are what you drop into a slot that has just freed.

3. Expected stalls — do not fight them:

  • Cyan ×25 in slot 1, 0:04 → 4:44. The slowest block of the run: stuck on ×7 for about a minute, then trickles 7 → 6 → 5 → … one pixel at a time and only finishes at 4:44. Never block a slot waiting for it.
  • Yellow ×31 in slot 2, 0:04 → 1:45, frozen on ×31 for roughly 80 seconds before the cream above it opens.
  • Green ×15 in slot 4, 0:05 → 0:55, stuck on ×12 from the start.
  • Teal ×22 in slot 3, 0:57 → 3:36, stalls twice (at ×14, then at ×4) before releasing.
  • Green ×18 in slot 4, 0:59 → 4:03, frozen on ×16 for about a minute.
  • Yellow ×33 in slot 5, 1:57 → 3:16, parked on ×33 for ~25 seconds at the start.
  • Red ×31 in slot 4, 5:01 → 5:27, drains to ×7 fast, then sits on ×7 for ~16 seconds.
  • Green ×18 in slot 2, 4:43 → 5:27, sticks on ×5 for the last ~19 seconds of its life.

All of them release on their own once the covering color is eaten.

4. Watch for instant refills. The endgame cycles fast: teal → red → orange/pink → dark grey land within seconds of each other at 4:27 – 4:34, and the triple finish at 4:19 – 4:20 empties four slots at once — have the next four blocks ready.

5. Hold the crust browns for the end. The two brown blocks (72 at 5:22, 44 at 5:35) are the finishers: the crust base stays buried until every swirl above it is eaten, so do not expect brown earlier in the queue to be useful.

6. No fail state. Nothing can be lost here — one clean run takes 5:39 of footage at the game's ▶3× eating speed.
