Step-by-step walkthrough

Prefer screenshots to video? Every phase of the clear is below in order, with the block counts and the frames they were taken from — keep it open next to the game and follow along tap by tap.

Level: 1029 — a pixel-art monkey sitting in a jungle pool: a white-furred head with a red face, a sand muzzle and crossed arms, against a sand sky with white clouds and an orange sun, mauve rock masses, pink bands, and a cyan water pool streaked with deep blue

Colors in this level: ⬜ White (the clouds, the monkey's fur halo and the water foam) · 🟨 Sand (the sky, the monkey's muzzle, ears and arms) · 🟪 Mauve (the grey-purple rock masses and the lower bank) · 🩷 Pink (the pink sky bands and the water banks) · 🟥 Red (the monkey's face, muzzle patch and hands) · 🟧 Orange (the sun blob at the top-left) · 🩵 Cyan (the water pool) · 🟦 Blue (the deep-blue streaks in the water) · 💠 Teal (the dark teal rock and water-shadow accents) · ⬛ Dark grey (the dark outline that draws the monkey)

How the Level Works

1. Tap a color block in the bottom queue to send it into one of the five slots above. All five slots are open from the start — nothing is chained shut on this level.

2. Ants of that color stream out and eat every reachable pixel of the matching color on the monkey picture; the number printed on the block counts down while they work. At 0 the block vanishes and frees its slot.

3. The queue is four independent columns, each a stack of three blocks. Only the front (top) block of a column is lit and tappable; the dimmed blocks behind it move up as the column is consumed, and new blocks drop in at the bottom. When a column runs out completely the remaining columns re-centre.

4. One queue cell is a padlock. A locked block sits in the queue's second row for most of the run and cannot be tapped — do not wait for it.

5. Pixels can be walled in. A block whose remaining pixels are buried under another color freezes on a low number for a long time. Level 1029 has extreme stalls: Orange ×29 sits in slot 1 for 104 seconds and Red ×44 in slot 5 for 119 seconds. That is the level's signature grind, not a bug.

6. A leaf-wrapped crate with a gold padlock sits on the monkey's chest as a board marker and is eaten along with the artwork around the two-minute mark.

7. Eat the entire picture to win. No move limit and no fail state: the order below is simply the fastest one observed.

Complete Block Order (Which Color First, Then Which)

Timestamps are when the block lands in a slot. Count is the number printed on the block at that moment.

Phase 1 — The Opening Five (0:03 – 0:06)

#TimeColor BlockCount
10:03🟪 Mauve48
20:03🩷 Pink50
30:05🩷 Pink46
40:05🟧 Orange17
50:06🟪 Mauve68

Five taps inside three seconds fill all five slots. The mauve ×48 is the first block to finish — a cyan block replaces it at 0:12.

Phase 2 — First Refills (0:12 – 0:33)

80:23🟨 Sand39
90:30⬜ White68
100:31🩷 Pink60
110:33🟪 Mauve72

The two pinks land within a second of each other at 0:30 – 0:31; the ×60 one has almost nothing to eat yet and parks in slot 3 until 1:15.

Phase 3 — Mid-Game Cycle (0:43 – 1:03)

130:45🟥 Red44
140:47⬜ White85
150:58🟦 Blue32
161:03🟨 Sand83

This is where the level's character shows up: three of these five blocks will not finish for well over a minute. Keep the other slots cycling.

221:43⬜ White68
231:44🩷 Pink18
241:51🟨 Sand55

Steps 21 – 23 land inside three seconds. Slot 1 is then occupied by the Orange ×29 for the next 104 seconds — the single longest occupant of the run.

282:45🟥 Red55

Between 1:51 and 2:24 nothing is tapped: four slots are frozen and the fifth is the orange that has nothing to eat. Resist the urge to tap — there is no move that helps.

The last five blocks all land inside 17 seconds. The Pink ×8 that lands at 3:49 drains to 0 in about a second and a half, and the white ants finish the last cluster a few seconds later.

The very last pixel to fall is White — the board is completely empty at 3:57, and the Level Complete screen appears at 3:58.

Pro Tips

1. Keep all five slots full. Every empty slot is idle ants. The opening five land within three seconds of each other — tap them as fast as the queue lights up.

2. Do not wait for the stuck blocks. Five blocks in this level stall for a minute or more. Their pixels are walled in by the rock, sky and water colors above them; keep feeding the other slots around them instead.

3. The stalls, with the time each one resolves:

  • Orange ×17 in slot 4, 0:05 → 1:35 (90 s).
  • Blue ×32 in slot 2, 0:58 → 2:35 (97 s).
  • Red ×44 in slot 5, 0:45 → 2:44 (119 s — the longest single occupancy of the run).
  • Orange ×29 in slot 1, 1:43 → 3:27 (104 s).
  • Red ×55 in slot 4, 2:45 → 3:41 (90 s).
  • Pink ×60 in slot 3, 0:31 → 1:15 (44 s).
  • White ×98 in slot 5, 2:45 → 3:12 (27 s).

4. Feed the dark grey early. The two Dark grey blocks (×52 at 2:38 and ×67 at 3:32) are the only ones that eat the monkey's outline. It is a one-pixel shell, so it is the slowest thing on the board — never leave dark grey as your only block.

5. Mauve and Pink are the background colors. Together they are about 576 of the picture's 2,000 pixels, and they unlock first. Use them to keep slots busy while the big sand, white and red blocks grind.

6. Expect a dead stretch around 1:51 – 2:24. Nothing can be tapped and nothing new can be seated; the level simply drains. Do not waste taps there.

7. Finale. The last five blocks land between 3:32 and 3:49. The Pink ×8 that lands at 3:49 disappears in about a second and a half; the very last pixel on the board is White, at about 3:57.
